On 17 February 2021, a trial was held in a politically motivated criminal case under Article 378 Part 2 ("public insult of a representative of the authorities"). Zubayda Seidakhmetova was illegally sentenced to 80 hours of community service and fined $34. Judge Duisembiyev Kanat Kalzhanovich (court No.2 of Yesil district of Astana).

According to the investigation, on 13 May 2020, Zubayda Seidakhmetova, being in the building of the General Prosecutor's Office, insulted police inspector Captain Utep M.T. (Yesil Police Department) in a live broadcast on Facebook with the words "қарабет, нұрбоқ, Нұрсүлтанның иті" ("karabet, nur-shit, Nursultan's dog").

Zubayda Seidakhmetova is politcally persecuted for participation in peaceful protests and criticism of the Government. She has been detained, arrested and fined multiple times. As a civil society activist, she constantly demands freedom to political prisoners.
