Political persecution of wives of political prisoners

Kazakhstani authorities politically persecute the wife of political prisoner Askhat Zheksebayev, Shara Oralbayeva, and the wife of political prisoner Kairat Klyshev, Zhanar Sarykulova.

Zhanar Sarykulova was told by a private court officer, Yerzhan Mukazhanov, that they would block her bank accounts if she did not pay the 'education loan debt' of USD248 which was used by Kairat Klyshev in 2003. That is, after 17 years, the authorities have recalled Kairat Klyshev's "educational loan".

Shara Oralbayeva was told by the bank that her sister owed a loan to the bank and that Shara Shara Oralbayeva was the 'trustee' of the loan, to which Shara Oralbayeva replied that she was not and could not be the 'trustee' of her sister's loan, as she had not signed any papers and was hearing about it for the first time. She faces the threat of having her account seized if she does not pay her sister's debts to the bank.

Askhat Zheksebayev

Kazakhstani authorities politically persecute the wife of political prisoner Askhat Zheksebayev Shara Shara Oralbayeva, and the wife of political prisoner Kairat Klyshev, Zhanar Sarykulova, for the public and transparent collection of funds on their cards as part of the humanitarian campaign. Kazakhstani citizens are making transfers to their cards to provide help to the families of political prisoners who have been left without breadwinners, as they have been sent to the pre-trial detention facilities or placed under house arrest by the Kazakhstani authorities, being deprived of an opportunity to provide for their families.

Kairat Klyshev and Zhanar Sarykulova have four children, and Askhat Zheksebayev and Shary Oralbayeva have five children. The Kazakhstani authorities want to deprive the families of political prisoners even of humanitarian support from transparent and public levies, they want to leave them without food, housing and children without the opportunity to develop.
