On 26 January 2021, an online trial was held in the politically motivated criminal case under Article 405 Part 2 ("participation in the activities of an extremist organisation") against a civil activist from the city of Shymkent, Kairat Sultanbekov.
Kairat Sultanbekov was illegally sentenced to 1 year of restriction of liberty, forced to pay $66 to «Crime Victims Compensation Fund» and $2 as court fees.

Kairat Sultanbekov - civil activist, participant in peaceful rallies, provided humanitarian assistance to the family of murdered human rights activist Dulat Agadil, observed political trials.
From 24 September to 24 December 2020, Kairat was under house arrest and on 22 September his house was illegally searched. On 3 August 2020, he was arbitrarily arrested for 15 days under administrative Article 488 ("violation of the law on peaceful assembly") for his participation in Asar (humanitarian aid campaign) in Talapker village on 24 July in memory of murdered human rights activist Dulat agadil.
