The mission of the Human Rights Foundation "Freedom Kazakhstan" has 2 aspects:

1. Targeted financial and legal assistance to political prisoners and politically repressed citizens of Kazakhstan, regardless of their political views, party or movement affiliation. 
2. Creation of a sanction list of government officials and civil servants of Kazakhstan responsible for gross violations of civil liberties and human rights.
    

The organisation of the work of the “Freedom Kazakhstan” Foundation and sources of funding are based on the following principles:

1. Human Rights  Foundation "Freedom for Kazakhstan" is supported by private donations from patrons-entrepreneurs and by voluntary donations from the Foundation's members.
2. The Foundation operates by the collegial decision of the President of the Foundation and the Board of Trustees.
3. It is expected that the Foundation will continue to operate until the rule of law and the protection of civil liberties and human rights are established in Kazakhstan.

Human Rights Foundation "Freedom Kazakhstan" provides financial and legal assistance to civil society representatives in Kazakhstan who advocate for civil liberties and human rights. We provide assistance to:

1. Political prisoners and their families, and also to the families of politically persecuted activists. 
2. Politically persecuted persons, including participants of peaceful protests, flash-mobs, online challenges, human rights defenders, journalists, bloggers, etc.

Welcome to the website of the non-profit and non-governmental Human Rights Foundation “Freedom Kazakhstan”.
 
What motivated me to create the Human Rights Foundation “Freedom Kazakhstan” and to take such an active civil action?
 
I have always believed and continue to believe that the people of Kazakhstan have the right to take part in the political life of the state. For the last 30 years the country has been ruled by the dictator Nazarbayev and his authoritarian regime. Our continued non-participation will lead the entire country and all of us to full impoverishment, not only economic but also cultural.
 
Thirty years of anti-people policies of the Nazarbayev regime have shown us all their complete failure and incapacity. Total corruption, suppression of dissent, autocracy, kleptocracy, suppression of civil society, humiliation of the rule of law, sale of natural monopolies, suppression of independent media, a huge number of political prisoners - all this is the result of his talentless rule and our tacit consent. It is not only impossible to tolerate this "authority" further, but also criminal towards our future generation!
 
As the main initiator of the Foundation, I have already donated $160,000 as the first but not the last donation to help our citizens, who are being systematically subjected to political repression by the Nazarbayev totalitarian regime.
 
Now we must act and live according to the principle "The salvation of a drowning Nation is the work of the drowning Nation itself"!
